An Averill family tradition since 1945, we’ve been welcoming guests to our home in Bigfork, Montana for more than seven decades. Each year, our family welcomes guests to Flathead Lake Lodge for a memory-making, all-inclusive dude ranch vacation. About Us

In 1945, Les Averill returned from World War II, purchased what is now Flathead Lake Lodge and started the uphill task of making his home on this wild land, restoring vacant lodges and building new cabins to host generations for years to come. Next came the second generation – Doug and Maureen – who ensured the family legacy and love for the West lived on. Today, the third generation is at the helm, with Chase and Kate continuing the long-held tradition of welcoming guests to this place.

Our grandfather, Les Averill, started Flathead Lake Lodge in 1945. Three generations later, we’re proud to carry on his legacy – as well as the legacy of our father Doug Averill – and continue the family business.
